Alex Pels has joined mun2 as general manager.
Pels had been vice president of production and programming at MTV Latin America.
The NBC Universal Cable Networks-owned channel, part of its Telemundo Cable Networks division, also added three producers.
Gloria Medel has joined mun2 as West Coast executive producer. She had been president of production for VOY Pictures Television.
Luisa Varona has come aboard as a Miami-based executive producer for the East Coast. Varona has more than 15 years of experience in broadcast- and cable-television production.
And Nick Rodriguez has joined the network as producer for its soon-to-be-launched Los Angeles-based show, Vivo. Rodriguez had been on the production team of The Drop and a consultant on Across the Hall for Sí TV.
“The vision of the new mun2 is almost complete,” Telemundo senior executive vice president of network strategy Antoinette Zel said in a prepared statement.
“We’re proud to say that we have created a dream team of hip and fresh Latino creatives that are going to give the general market a taste of what it means to be a young U.S. Hispanic today,” she added. “Alex and his team will enjoy a huge amount of creative freedom and, frankly, mun2 will be all the stronger because of it.”
