Mun2 Series Links Young Latinos With Role Models

NBC-owned Mun2 is giving young Latinos a chance to hook up with top Latino professionals in the industry of their choice. A new reality weekly series, The Mun2 Hook Up, premiered July 30 on the bilingual youth channel by hooking up a young, varsity football player in the Los Angeles area with NFL star Tony González. The idea of the show is simple: to give young viewers the opportunity to speak directly to their role models and receive valuable advice and tips in their respective professions.

A second episode, to air August 6, features Mexican designer Sami Hayek, who walks a young student through the creative process of designing things and objects in his own Los Angeles studio. Viewers will be able to follow the young designer, Fu Paullada, as he arrives at Hayek’s studio and is presented with a series of professional challenges, including the design of a soccer stadium.

“The idea was to come up with concepts that really reflect what our audiences want,” says Mun2 general manager Alex Pels. “The show gives them an opportunity to speak directly to their role models.

In anticipation of the on-air premiere, viewers were encouraged to visit holamun2.com/hookup where they were able to watch the complete first episode online one day prior to the on-air premiere. After that, every following episode will have a dual-screen premiere, streaming simultaneously on-air and online.
