MundoFox Extends 'Feud'-Themed Primetime Game Show

More than 100 Latinos have said they truly enjoy MundoFox’s 7 p.m. take on the venerable game show Family Feud.

The network announced March 11 that it has ordered new episodes of 100 Latinos Dijeron, which features two teams competing head-to-head for the chance to win a cash prize by answering questions and earning points based on the most popular answer choices — according to 100 Latinos surveyed throughout the U.S.

Rather than an adaption of Family Feud, 100 Latinos Dijeron offers original questions of particular relevance to its Spanish-speaking contestants and live studio audience. Marco Antonio Regil, one of Mexico’s best-known television personalities, will continue in his role as 100 Latinos’ host.

Production of the new episodes began March 17 in Los Angeles.

“With the renewal of 100 Latinos Dijeron, MundoFox continues its commitment to provide fresh and new original programming to Latino audiences across the U.S. and in Puerto Rico,” MundoFox vice president of content development Javier Szerman said.  “We are thrilled to expand our offering of such a popular show, and one that has been instrumental in the continued growth of MundoFox.”

According to Nielsen, for the week ending March 9, MundoFox’s average national audience of 60,000 adult viewers aged 18-49 — equal to that of rival Azteca América — was too small to generate a ratings point.

However, the network has acknowledged that 100 Latinos Dijeron is one of MundoFox’s standout programs, and is pleased with the show’s ratings performance given the network’s relatively young life span.

MundoFox marks its second anniversary on Aug. 12.
