Murdoch, Chernin Enjoy Large News Corp. Bonuses

Chairman Rupert Murdoch received $25.7 million from News Corp. in the fiscal year ended in June, including salary and a $21 million bonus, Reuters reported.

The media giant also began paying $50,000 per month for Murdoch’s apartment in May, according to the company’s annual proxy statement, which it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Thursday, Reuters reported.

President and chief operating officer Peter Chernin received $29.3 million -- salary of $8.1 million and a bonus of $21.2 million -- Reuters reported, adding that Chernin's bonus was distributed in cash and restricted-stock units.
