Music Choice Pitching Still Ads

Digital-music vendor Music Choice has started to pitch advertisers on still
'TV-screen ads' to accompany its music channels.

It opened a New York ad-sales office and hired former Comedy Central sales
executive Drew Berkowitz and former Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.
executive Bob Perry as directors of sales and advertising partnerships.

Operators can get a cut of the revenue Music Choice generates by selling CDs
through its digital channels, but it'll keep the ad revenue to itself,
spokeswoman Marlo Zoda said.

DirecTV Inc. is the only affiliate currently selling CDs via Wink
Communications Inc. No MSO has a transaction system in place -- not even
Cablevision Systems Corp., which included Music Choice as part of its 'iO:
Interactive Optimum' digital play.
