Cox Communications Inc. systems in Oklahoma City and Hampton Roads, Va., are
using N2 Broadband Inc.'s "MediaPath" software for video-on-demand
The MediaPath content-distribution system allows MSOs to combine content from
direct sources, as well as content aggregators.
"We selected N2 Broadband because their solution enables us to quickly and
efficiently get on-demand content directly from the content provider," said
Lynne Elander, vice president of video-product development at Cox.
In other VOD news, Concurrent Computer Corp. said it is laying off an
unspecified number of employees and downsizing office-leasing space.
The result will be a $2 million charge for the fiscal quarter ending June 30
due to a slowdown in overall revenue, the company said. Concurrent added that it
expects quarterly revenue for its VOD and Real Time divisions to be at the low
end of previous guidance -- $7 million and $9 million,
