The trio of studios launching a new TV network—namely Viacom’s Paramount, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Lionsgate—has narrowed down a potential name for the start-up to two choices.
“We have two names that we’re testing right now,” said Mark Greenberg, president and CEO of the joint venture. “We’re pretty close to making an announcement. Obviously, we want to make sure any name we have resonates with consumers. ”
Greenberg, who wouldn’t disclose what the two options are, said there’s time to do testing and focus groups because the new network doesn’t launch until fall next year.
The corporate name for the venture is Studio 3 Partners, but Greenberg stressed that moniker will not used as the network’s name.
