The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications will honor Comcast Corp. chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts at its “25th Anniversary Celebration,” to be held Dec. 1 at the Marriott Marquis in New York.
NAMIC said it chose Roberts due to his and Comcast's “continuing commitment to encouraging and supporting diversity within the telecommunications industry.”
The theme of the event will be, “Opening Minds, Cultivating Leaders,” NAMIC added.
“We are excited about recognizing both Brian's and Comcast's contribution to diversity in the telecommunications industry," said NAMIC president and ESPN Mobile senior vice president and general manager Manish Jha said in a prepared statement.
“Culminating with the 25th Anniversary Celebration, this year, we celebrate NAMIC's 25-year contribution to increasing multiethnic diversity in the cable and telecommunications industry,” he added.
Roberts added, “What NAMIC has achieved as an organization is directly attributable to the passion and commitment of its members. I am honored to receive this recognition and assist NAMIC as they step up to the challenges and opportunities of the next 25 years.”
