The National Association of Minorities in Communications will change the name
of its annual fall conference from Urban Markets to the Annual NAMIC Conference
in an effort to expand the depth and breadth of the show, which runs Sept. 10
through 12.

'Under the Urban Markets moniker, many people felt that the conference was
only about marketing to people of color,' NAMIC national president Patricia
Andrews-Keenan said. This year's show will focus on digital media and
diversity.

NAMIC also announced that Discovery Networks U.S. president Johnathan Rogers
and Insight Communications Co. Inc. executive vice president and chief financial
officer Kim Kelly will serve as honorary co-chairs of the 15th annual
conference.
