NAMIC Promotes Key Execs


The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Monday announced three promotions within its director level staff positions.

NAMIC director of education James Jones has been elevated to vice president of education and will continue to manage the trade organization’s educational programs and initiatives, such as the Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP); the NAMIC Webinar Series and the L. Patrick Mellon Mentorship Program, said organization executives.

Daphne Leroy has been promoted to vice president of marketing and communications, overseeing and managing all facets of corporate communications for NAMIC’s national association and its 17 nationwide chapters Additionally, the former director of marketing and communications will oversee all membership activities and chapter operations.

Daniel McGlone, NAMIC’s fund development vice president will continue to manage the diversification and expansion of NAMIC’s funding through identifying and leveraging new revenue streams and stewarding relationships with current donors. McGlone, upped from fund development director, will also oversee NAMIC’s portfolio of annual special events.

“Since increasing capacity at the senior staff level in 2005, NAMIC has experienced steady growth year over year, which has expanded all facets of our operations,” said NAMIC president Kathy Johnson in a statement. “Upgrading these key positions will ensure that they are commensurate with evolving managerial demands.”
