NAMIC Sets Executive-Development Program

As part of its strategic diversity initiatives for 2001, the National
Association of Minorities in Communications will launch an 'Executive Leadership
Development Program' in September.

In collaboration with the University of California at Los Angeles' Anderson
School, the ELDP will select 25 NAMIC management-level members to take courses
at the school to aid in their efforts move to more executive positions within
the industry, NAMIC president Patricia Andrews-Keenan said.

The four-session program will run from September through May 2002, the
organization added.

'We are very pleased to work with UCLA's Anderson School of Business on this
very important program,' Andrews-Keenan said in a prepared statement. 'The
Anderson School offers a variety of executive-leadership programs, each of which
focuses on a particular ethnic, racial, gender or societal group. These programs
help to prepare participants for executive positions from the unique
perspectives and experiences of each group.'
