Narad Reshuffles Execs, Lands Trial

Broadband-technology provider Narad Networks Inc. has reshuffled its
executive deck and landed a new field trial in Japan.

Westford, Mass.-based Narad's founder and CEO, Dev Gupta, is handing over his
duties to Craig Dynes, the company's chief financial officer. Gupta will assume
the post of chairman of the board.

Vice president of marketing and operations Chuck Kaplan will become chief
operating officer, and Mark Aldrich will add worldwide sales and
customer-service oversight to his job description as VP of North American
sales.

Meanwhile, the company also landed the first field trial of its broadband
business system in Japan with StarCat Cable Network.

The trial, in partnership with Japanese distribution partner Synclayer Inc.,
will involve delivering high-speed Internet access and 30-megabit-per-second
video streams to StarCat business customers using its existing hybrid
fiber-coaxial network.

Narad's technology uses Ethernet transport protocols to deliver symmetric
data, voice-over-Internet-protocol and virtual-private-network services over
coax or fiber networks.
