Nat Geo To Air Bin Laden Movie

A film depicting the U.S. Navy Seals’ takedown of Osama Bin Laden will debut on National Geographic Channel in November.

The Weinstein Company-produced film Seal Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden, will debut on Nat Geo Nov. 4 – two days before the presidential election -- and is based on the May 1, 2011 killing of the al-Qaeda leader ordered by President Obama.

A day later, the John Stockwell-produced film will premiere on online movie service Netflix, said officials.

"National Geographic Channel prides itself on giving our viewers exclusive access to truly ground-breaking moments from the past, present and future," said David Lyle, CEO National Geographic Channels in a statement. "Harvey’s film is a perfect match for what people expect from our network — content that is socially relevant, factually based and entertaining as hell."
