Nat Geo Greenlights ‘Duck Quacks Don’t Echo’

Pleased with the performance of already-renewed freshman series Brain Games and The Numbers Game, National Geographic Channel said it greenlit pop-science explainer show Duck Quacks Don’t Echo (working title) from JimCo Productions and based on a format created by Sky Vision.

With production beginning this fall, Duck Quacks Don’t Echo puts an entertaining spin on assessing validity of weird, unusual and over-the-top hypotheses through a series of interactive, original scientific tests, the channel said in a release. Three co-hosts will challenge each other with their take on such theories “Can shrimp run longer than the average human?” and then test them with in-studio and field experiments.

Duck Quacks Don’t Echo unearths and tests the most obscure and the most absurd theories,” Heather Moran, executive vice president, programming & strategy, at NGC said in the release. “We’re making science entertaining and interactive by revealing the facts behind these ideas and engaging viewers actively in these experiments — and hopefully they’ll learn a thing or two along the way.”
