National Geographic To Air 'American War Generals' Special

National Geographic Channel has scheduled September 14 at 8:00 E.T./P.T. as the premiere date for its new two-hour special American War Generals.

The documentary-style film highlights the United States' past half-century of wars, as told by the leaders and U.S. Army generals who were involved. Interviewees include Gen. Colin Powell, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, Gen. David Patraeus and several other prominent members of the U.S. military who held decision-making roles during the country's conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and elsewhere. The film shows how history, policy and other factors shaped the strategy of generals throughout subsequent wars.

American War Generals is executive produced by documetnary filmmaker Tresha Mabile and journalist Peter Bergen. The filmmakers worked with Towers Productions, which has produced various Inside war specials for National Geographic, to create the project.
