National Lampoon Video Network Launches


National Lampoon announced the launch of a broadband network Thursday.

The comedy company said initial distribution partners for the National Lampoon Video Network are Veoh Networks, Joost, Handheld Entertainment, GoFish, Lycos, BiggyTV and YouTube.

The company already had deals in place with AOL Video and Brightcove, as well as its own video portals, and independent broadband channel

All National Lampoon content available on these platforms will be advertiser-supported and free to the consumer, the company said, adding that some partners will offer digital downloads to buy. Content will be available domestically and internationally and will consist of both short and long-form clips.

Additional content announcements, launch dates and syndication partners are expected shortly, National Lampoon added.
