National Cable & Telecommunications Association officials said Monday that the annual National Show convention, which was scheduled for New Orleans in May, will instead move to Atlanta and run from April 9-11 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Convention organizers scrambled to find a replacement for the industry’s largest convention after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.
NCTA officials said the convention will return to the Big Easy in 2008. The 2007 convention is scheduled to be held in Las Vegas May 7-9.
General registration for the 2006 National Show in Atlanta will begin in November, the trade group said. Assignment of booth space for exhibitors, which had been postponed, has been rescheduled for the end of October, according to NCTA chief administrative officer Barbara York.
