NBA TV will repurpose ABC Sports' National Basketball Association Finals
telecasts as part of its comprehensive coverage of the league championship
series, which begins Wednesday.
The NBA's 24-hour digital-cable service -- currently available on DirecTV
Inc. and EchoStar Communications Corp.'s Dish Network -- will replay each of
ABC's New Jersey Nets-San Antonio Spurs Finals broadcasts prior to the next live
game, according to NBA officials.
Other NBA TV Finals programming includes NBA TV: Live at the Finals with
Ahmad Rashad, an on-site pregame showthat will air one hour before
each ABC Finals telecast; live coverage of every press conference in its
entirety; and key highlights, up-to-the-minute statistics, current box scores
and expert analysis.
NBA TV will also air the final three episodes of NBA TV: Real Playoffs
2003, its reality series that chronicled the lives of 16 NBA players -- one
from each of the original 16 playoff teams.
