NBA TV Tips Off LeBron, Heat On Oct. 5

NBA TV will give basketball fans their first views of LeBron James and the new look Miami Heat.
The pro hoops league will air the Heat's first preseason game as they host the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. (ET). In the league's biggest off-season moves, James and fellow free-agent Chris Bosh joined Dwayne Wade in South Beach, where the trio hopes to lead a new NBA power.
The Heat's preseason opener will feature announcer Marv Albert, along with hall of famer Kevin McHale and five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber, who will be live courtside, calling the game for NBA TV. Fellow hall of famer Cheryl Miller will provide reports from the sidelines.
The contest is one of 275 live games NBA TV, which is now in some 53 million homes, will televise during its 12th campaign, more than any other professional sports league's network. That total includes 125 NBA preseason, regular season and playoff games in high-definition.
