Buoyed by its successful summer run, broadcast network NBC will air an
additional four hours of Courtroom Television Network's Forensic Files
series beginning Oct. 12.
The broadcast network will air Forensic Files episodes Oct. 12 and 19,
with airdates for additional episodes to be announced later.
NBC generated a 5.8 rating with its four-week (Aug. 25 through Sept. 15)
repurposed run of the basic-cable network's crime series. In addition, the show
averaged a 2.4 rating among adults 18 through 49 on NBC.
'Our experiment to air Forensic Files on NBC this summer was a
definite success,' NBC Entertainment president Jeff Zucker said in a prepared
statement. 'We're happy to continue our association with Court TV and
Forensic Files by airing these new episodes.'
Court TV CEO Henry Schleiff said NBC's decision to air additional Forensic
Files episodes was indicative of the show's mass appeal.
'This has been a true `win-win' for both our networks, given the series'
extraordinary performance on NBC and its record-breaking ratings on Court TV,'
he said in a prepared statement.
