NBC Cable said Wednesday that it has reached a multiyear, multiple-transponder deal for C-band service on SES Americom Inc.’s "HD-PRIME -- America’s Cable Neighborhood" service.
HD-PRIME will be located on AMC-10 and AMC-11, the successor satellites to Satcom C-3 and C-4. The new birds will be launched in the second and third quarters of 2004, SES said.
The two transponders will be used for the distribution of most of NBC Cable’s networks -- Bravo, Bravo HD+, CNBC, CNBC World, MSNBC, Telemundo and mun2.
Other programmers slated to use HD-PRIME include A&E Television Networks, C-SPAN, Court TV, Crown Media Holdings Inc., Discovery Communications Inc., E! Networks, In Demand, Lifetime Entertainment Services, QVC, Scripps Networks, Viacom Inc. and The Weather Channel.
