NBC Sports Group will kick off the second run of MLS Breakaway this Saturday night.
The 90-minute “whip-around” show on NBC Sports Network will encompass action from five MLS matches on Aug. 3 from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (ET). MLS Breakaway will follow NBC Sports Network’s full match coverage of Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls at 6:30 p.m., which will serve as the lead-out of a new edition of profile series MLS 36, this time spotlighting 18-year old New England Revolution forward Diego Fagundez, the club’s first-ever homegrown player.
MLS Breakaway, which debuted on March 16, will feature live look-ins from five regional telecasts taking place during that 90-minute window. NBC Sports Group’s lead MLS play-by-play voice John Strong and analysts Kyle Martino and Robbie Mustoe will host the wrap-around coverage from the programmer’s International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn.
NBC Live Sports Extra, NBC Sports Group’s service for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets will live-stream NBC Sports Network’s coverage of Kansas City-New York and MLS Breakaway. Coverage will be streamed via “TV Everywhere” to authenticated NBC Sports Network subscribers.
