NBC Universal Cable named Michael Schreiber director of new media, officials said Tuesday.
In his new position, Schreiber will report to Ron Lamprecht, vice president of new media for NBC U Cable. Schreiber will help to execute new-media deals for on-demand content and alternative distribution of NBC U's cable and entertainment brands.
In addition, Schreiber will support the cable-sales team on new-media efforts for Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications Inc., In Demand L.L.C. and telco customers.
Schreiber joins NBC U Cable from the company’s ad-sales division, where he was manager of business development focusing on CNBC, structuring and closing global ad-sales packages with major U.S. clients.
Previously, Schreiber worked in business development for the NBC stations’ ad-sales group. He is a certified GE “Six Sigma Black Belt” and is also a graduate of GE's “Experienced Commercial Leadership Program.”
Schreiber graduated from the University of Virginia and has an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
