NBC, Versus Track Animal Kingdom's Preakness Quest


Animal Kingdom will try to add the second leg of thoroughbred horse racing's Triple Crown and Versus will join NBC on the track.
NBCU's national cable network, which aired Preakness Classics and the Black Eyed Susan Stakes from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 20, will hit Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore on May 21 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., setting the stage with updates about Animal Kingdom, which is trying to back up its Kentucky Derby triumph, as well as the other equine competitors, owners and jockeys. Versus' coverage window will also include the eighth, ninth and tenth races from Pimlico.
NBC steps to the gate from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., culminating with Preakness coverage. NBC's coverage of the 136th running of the race is co-hosted by Bob Costas and Tom Hammond, alongside two-time Preakness winner Gary Stevens. The on-air team also includes race-caller and Baltimore native Larry Collmus, contributing analysts/handicappers Mike Battaglia and Bob Neumeier, reporter Kenny Rice and on-track reporter Donna Brothers.
Versus will wrap up the action from Baltimore from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
