NBC, Wimbledon to Lob Tennis Onto Web

The latest serves, volleys and lobs from the upcoming Wimbledon: The Championships tennis tournament will be streamed online thanks to a partnership between NBC Sports, The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and MediaZone.

MediaZone, the official broadband partner for Wimbledon, will offer live and on-demand Internet broadcasts via NBC during the tournament, including footage of more than 250 matches played on nine courts, plus archive video of past competitions and three live radio channels calling the matches. This marks the first time video from the tennis championship will be available to U.S. viewers on the Web.

"By partnering with MediaZone to offer the ‘Wimbledon LIVE’ service to our audience, we ensure that they can not only follow The Championships through our broadcasts, but also access more flexible viewing options and in-depth tournament coverage via the Internet,” said Gary Zenkel, president of NBC Olympics and executive vice president of strategic partnerships for NBC Sports.
