NBCSN Salutes Team USA Top Sochi's Olympic, Paralympic Performers with Awards Program

NBSCN next month is scheduled to air the inaugural Best of U.S. Awards Show, an event honoring Team USA’s performances during the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

During the ceremony, premiering on April 7 from 7 p.m.-8 p.m., awards will be granted to competitors in 10 categories, including Best Male Olympian, Best Female Olympian, Best Team and Best Moment. All categories will honor athletes from both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The nominees were selected by a group comprising members of the U.S. Olympic Committee, athletes and media representatives.

Winners in each of the 10 categories were decided by fans through a voting platform hosted on the Facebook pages of the US Olympic and Paralympic teams.

The event will tape at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on April 2. Coverage of the red carpet event, during which over 200 members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams are scheduled to arrive, will be hosted by figure skaters and 2014 Sochi commentators Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski. The main program will be helmed by NBC’s Willie Geist.
