The NCTA Wants to See Your Papers

The National Cable & Telecommunications Association issued its annual call for technical papers for presentation at the 2004 National Show.

Any topic of interest to broadband cable and telecommunications engineering managers is eligible.

Topics of particular interest include: approaches to low-cost terminal device design; home networking, wireless communications and their role in cable; digital-video-recorder/personal-video-recorder hardware and software design and implementation; bandwidth management and maximizing bandwidth utilization; conditional-access and digital-rights management; voice over Internet protocol; and other advanced broadband technology topics.

Summaries of proposed technical papers are due Dec. 15 via e-mail (technicalpapers@ncta.com
) or by printing an online form (www.thenationalshow.com/technicalpapers
) and sending it by fax or mail. They will be judged by a panel of members of the NCTA Engineering Forum.

The National Show will be held May 2-5 in New Orleans.
