NCTC, ACA Combine Shows

The buying co-op and the lobbying group for small cable operators are rebranding their annual meeting as The Independent Show, according to officials.

The National Cable Television Cooperative and the American Cable Association will hold their renamed joint summer meeting July 30-Aug. 2 in Chicago.

The NCTA and the ACA have worked together on this meeting for several years, but there was always a separation between their events. This year, however, the agenda “will be a seamless mix of both organizations’ sessions and events,” according to a press release issued by both groups.

“What started years ago as the annual meetings of the two organizations to meet bylaw requirements has grown into a vibrant educational, networking and business forum for NCTC and ACA members,” NCTC president Jeff Abbas said in a prepared statement.

“While the annual member meetings will still be part of the agenda, the name change to The Independent Show better reflects how the meeting has evolved,” he added.
