The National Cable Television Cooperative has named Jared Baumann vice president of broadband solutions. In the new position, Baumann will be responsible for leading strategies for broadband solutions that can help NCTC members become more successful in their residential and commercial broadband service offerings.
According to the NCTC, those strategies will involve key broadband initiatives like broadband transport aggregation, home WiFi solutions, community WiFi, commercial services partners, wireless backhaul and 5G opportunities, smart caching, local network capacity and QoS management.
Baumann has nearly 20 years experience in service provider and enterprise technical leadership. Most recently he spent six years at C Spire leading key broadband and video initiatives including deployment of fiber to the home (FTTH), the first U.S. deployment of MobiTV as an app-based solution, and 5G Home Internet.
“Jared brings incredible industry knowledge to NCTC,” NCTC president and CEO Rich Fickle said in a press release. “He has nearly two decades in technical leadership experience and most recently, at a leading regional operator. As we move forward, he will spearhead NCTC strategies for broadband solutions, including services, products and education, to serve our members.”
Prior to C Spire, Baumann spent more than a decade at CoreLogic FNC in Enterprise Infrastructure,working closely with IT and Information Security departments to accomplish corporate objectives, meet implementation deadlines and control costs of enterprise projects. Previously, he was operations director of game day events for TicketsXchange.
