NESN Nets Best Bruins Regular-Season Ratings In 14 Seasons

NESN notched its highest National Hockey League rating of the season and best regular-season mark in 14 years with its coverage of the Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens game Thursday night.
The regional sports network scored a 4.7 rating in the Boston DMA on April 9, with the Bruins-Les Habitants action, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The contest matched the rating for the Bruins-Washington Capitals contest on Feb. 11, 1995, and topped the 4.5 earned by Boston-Montreal on Sunday Feb. 1, when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.
The April 9 contest was the highest-rated regular-season Bruins game on any network since Oct. 2, 1997, when WSBK-TV's coverage of the season opener against the L.A. Kings also netted a 4.7 household rating.
NESN finishes off the regular season with two Bruins games this weekend -- Saturday April 11 at Buffalo at 4 p.m., and Sunday at the New York Islanders at 5 p.m. The April 12 game will be available on NESNplus and NESNplus HD channels.
