NESN skated to the third-highest mark in its history with its Boston Bruins coverage during the opener of the club's second-round National Hockey League playoff series.
The regional sports network averaged a 9.5 household rating in the Boston DMA on Friday May 1 with its telecast of the Bruins' 4-1 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The rating ties the network's best Bruins rating of the 2008-09 season and is also NESN's third-highest-rated Bruins broadcast in its 25-year history of covering the team.
NESN is scheduled to deliver regionally exclusive coverage of Game 3 on Wednesday, May 6, beginning at 7 p.m. with the network's pre-game show WB Mason Bruins Face-Off Live. Game 4 will also be shown live on NESN on Friday, May 8. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.
Versus televised Game 2 exclusively as the Hurricanes equaled the series, with a 3-0 win.
