Net2Phone Performs Military Service

Net2Phone Inc. will provide voice-over-Internet-protocol services to Rural West under a deal announced Thursday.

Rural West, a member of the National Cable Television Cooperative, serves several military bases.

The operator will roll out Net2Phone’s VoIP service before the end of the year in cable systems in Colorado, Arizona, California, Hawaii and selected military bases overseas.

"For many soldiers, the phone is an important way to stay close to loved ones while away from home," Rural West chief operating officer Dave Boland said in a prepared statement.

"With Net2Phone, we are able to offer a high-quality, bundled phone service that allows our armed forces on active duty to save money on calls while keeping touch with their family and friends,” he added.
