Netflix has renewed its original drama series Marco Polo for a second season, the streaming service said Wednesday during its Television Critics Association tour session.
Marco Polo, which launched last month, will begin filming on its second season later this year, according to Ted Sarandos, the company’s chief content officer. The show was originally developed for Starz.
Sarandos also announced the launch dates of several original series including comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on March 6, dramas Bloodline and Daredevil on March 20 and April 10 respectively; and comedy Grace And Frankie on May 8.
Netflix will also launch kids-targeted titles Ever After High: Spring Unsprung (Feb. 6) and season two of Mako Mermaids (Feb 13). The service previously announced the Jan. 16 debut of DreamWorks Animation's The Adventures of Puss in Boots.
