New Cable Mag to Transmit at Western Show


The California Cable Television Association said Monday that a new monthly magazine covering the cable business will debut at this year’s Western Show.

The CCTA said the editorial focus of Transmit
will be on helping cable operators to deploy technology to increase their business at every turn.

in the 1990s, as well as the director of editorial operations at Transmedia Partners, which published International Cable
and Communications Technology

Founding publisher Paul Levine has more than 30 years of publishing experience in the consumer, cable- and broadcast-TV industries. Publications he has founded include Communications Technology
and International Cable
, and he was a cofounder of CableFAX Daily

Featured columnists will include Bruce Leichtman of Leichtman Research Group Inc.; former Jones Intercable Inc. executive and competitive-intelligence expert Kim Dority; Prof. Ron Rizzuto of the University of Denver's telecommunications department; interactive-TV and new-media expert Ken Freed; and cable-industry writer and editor Stewart Schley.

The 36th Annual Western Show will be Dec. 2-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
