DirecTV Inc. said Tuesday that it will open a fourth owned-and-operated customer call center in Missoula, Mont.

The direct-broadcast satellite provider said the new facility will begin operations next summer and have the capacity to employ up to 800 customer-service professionals to provide technical support to its more than 15 million subscribers.

DirecTV added that Missoula customer-call-center representatives will provide technical support for new products and advanced television services such as digital-video recorders, interactive services and HD programming.

“With the launch of sophisticated television services, including the new ‘DirecTV Plus’ DVR, interactivity and local channels in high-definition, DirecTV's new Missoula customer-service center will ensure that support is available to customers when they need it,” DirecTV president of sales and service John Suranyi said in a prepared statement.
