New E! Show `Reveals' Record Ratings


E! Entertainment Television series Revealed with Jules Asner came out
of the gate fast Dec. 5, notching record ratings for a new skein on the

The biography/interview series averaged a 0.84 rating (640,000 households)
with its installment on George Clooney at 8 p.m., according to Nielsen Media
Research data.

That was bested by a 1.01 average (774,000) for the 9 p.m. episode with Julia

The episodes bowed as part of 'Ocean's Eleven' week on the network, which
also included a one-hour live red-carpet special at 10 p.m. covering the film's
premiere in Los Angeles.

Overall, the 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. period Dec. 5 increased 60 percent over E!'s
year-to-date household average and represented a 119 percent amelioration with
adults 18 through 49.

E! officials said the network's previous highest series premiere was for
TheE!True Hollywood Story, which bowed with a 0.87
household ratings for 'Dark Obsession: The Stalking and Murder of Rebecca
Schaeffer' March 30, 1996.

E! executives are counting the back-to-back Revealed episodes as the
series premiere. Under those parameters, Revealed averaged a 0.93 over
its two-hour run.

Five years ago, E!'s universe was significantly smaller, as the True
Hollywood Story
installment centering on the late actress played before some
333,000 households.
