A Federal Appeals Court in Philadelphia Thursday set Jan. 12 as the oral-argument date in the case challenging new broadcast-ownership rules from the Federal Communications Commission.
The three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit originally set Nov. 5 as the hearing date, but parties argued that they did not have sufficient time to prepare.
In June, the FCC adopted rules relaxing restrictions on the ownership of newspapers, TV stations and radio stations. The Third Circuit panel blocked the rules one day before they were to become official.
