New Look for Outdoor Channel


Outdoor Channel hopes its rebranded on-air look is lean, mean and black-and-green.

The network launched the new look Thursday -- along with new tag line “America's Leader in Outdoor TV” -- with implementation on its broadband and corporate Web sites to follow.

“Our new look is a more contemporary ‘face,’ but we have still have the same ‘soul’ -- one that is dedicated to hunting and fishing,” senior vice-president of marketing and research Denise Conroy-Galley said in a prepared statement.

“We've done a lot of research on the needs and interests of hunters and anglers, and we've assembled a programming mix that caters to their active lifestyle,” she added. “This new look is a reflection of that, and it uses the multitude of distinct sights and sounds of the great outdoors as the ideal on-air backdrop. Much like the outdoors itself, Outdoor Channel is a destination, and we wanted our new look to convey that.”
