New T. Howard Site Promotes Diversity

The T. Howard Foundation said Wednesday that its new Web site would help to
educate students about diversity-based internship programs within the satellite
and telecommunications industries.

At www.t-howard.com, companies and
college students can sign up for summer-internship programs designed to ensure
that women and people of color are better represented in the industry. The site
also highlights success stories of past interns.

New York-based DW Integrated created the Web site's redesign. One of last
year's interns in the T. Howard program, Nicholas Pelzer, now works for DW, and
he pitched the project to his boss, who agreed to do the redesign
free-of-charge, according to T. Howard executive director Cynthia Dinkins.

On April 30, the foundation hosts its annual fund-raising dinner in New York.
This year's event at the Waldorf-Astoria's Starlight Roof will honor MTV
Networks CEO Tom Freston and his efforts at promoting diversity.

EchoStar Communications Corp., which did not attend last year's benefit in
honor of DirecTV Inc. CEO Eddy Hartenstein, has purchased a gold table this
year. Chairman Charlie Ergen is expected to attend the dinner following an
appearance at SkyFORUM earlier in the day.

Dinkins said the foundation hopes to at least match the $500,000 raised at
last year's dinner, although she admitted that the economic downturn and
industry consolidation makes it more challenging.

The T. Howard Foundation is still selling tickets to the
event.
