New York-

NTL Inc., Britain's largest MSO, said last week that it invested $6 million in interactive developer Diva Systems Corp. The deal deepens a budding relationship in which the two companies have worked to deploy video-on-demand services over NTL's cable network. "NTL believes that video-on-demand will be a key component of its digital lineup," NTL president and CEO Barclay Knapp said in a prepared statement.

Diva's development agreement with NTL, signed last September, was its first international contract. In addition to its British properties, NTL owns Irish MSO CableLink Ltd., and has agreed to buy Switzerland's biggest cable operator.
