News Corp. Feeling Red, White and Blue

News Corp. completed its reincorporation from Australia to the United States Friday.

As of Friday, News Corp. shares will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbols “NWS” for its class-B (voting) common stock and “NWS.A” for its class-A (nonvoting) shares.

The reincorporation was largely seen as an opportunity to boost News Corp.’s visibility with U.S.-based investment funds, which had been prohibited from investing in foreign stocks.

It is anticipated that the company will be added to Standard & Poor’s “S&P 500 Index” in the near future.
