Move Prompted by Scheduling Conflict with MLB's American League Division Series

The NFL has moved the Oct. 6 San Diego Chargers-Oakland Raiders game (1:35 p.m. (PT) kickoff) from CBS to NFL Network, with a new start time of 11:35 p.m. -- effectively after the NBC's Sunday Night Football contest between the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers.

The move was necessitated by the announcement by Major League Baseball that the American League Division Series will have Oakland hosting an Oct. 5 evening game. The Raiders share the stadium with the A's and it takes time to convert the field to football use.

The scheduling shift is the second for the NFL this season -- NBC's season-opener of Denver-Baltimore was played in the Mile High City, rather than in the home of the defending Super Bowl champion Ravens because the Baltimore Orioles had a game scheduled at Camden Yards and parking availability would have been compromised.

With San Diego-Oakland now in late-night, Sunday Ticket subscribers will have little to choose from in the late Sunday afternoon window: Denver at Dallas and Carolina at Arizona are now the only two contests that will air at that time.
