NFL Network continued its strong ratings season Thursday night, tackling 5.4 million watchers for its coverage of the Indianapolis Colts' 30-28 win over the Tennessee Titans.
The Dec. 9 telecast, excluding over-the-air viewing in the participating teams DMAs, was the top show entertainment and sports show on cable last night, according to officials at the pro football league's in-house network.
Through its first five contests, NFL Network has averaged 5.7 million cable viewers, a 38% jump from the 4.1 million average during the same stage of the 2009 campaign.
Thursday Night Football continues with the San Francisco 49ers at the San Diego Chargers on Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. (ET). TheThursday Night Kickoffpresented by Sears pregame show starts at 6 p.m.
