NFL Network Tackles 5.4 Million Viewers With Eagles-Texans


NFL Network drew well over 5 million viewers for its coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans on Dec. 2.
The telecast, in which Michael Vick led Philly to a 34-24 win over Matt Schaub and theTexans, averaged 5.4 million viewers, a 71% improvement from the 3.1 million who watched NFL Network's fourth contest of the 2009 campaign,  the New York Jets triumph over the Buffalo Bills 19-13 from Toronto on Dec. 3, 2009
However, the NFL game was dunked on by TNT's coverage of LeBron James's return to Cleveland, as the drama network scored with 7.05 million watchers with the matchup between Miami-Heat-Cavaliers, the third-highest in cable history for an NBA regular-season game.
Through its first four games this season, NFL Network has averaged just under 5.8 million watchers.
