National Geographic Channel has awarded its creative account to New York-based advertising agency Union.
Union will collaborate on ongoing marketing, as well as the creation of specific advertising and promotions to support award-winning series National Geographic Explorer.
The agency will also work on various viral-marketing, program-ideation and online/offline efforts to help further build the network.
Union worked on NGC’s repositioning campaign in 2002, and the company has done work for cable networks including AMC, Comedy Central, Spike TV, NFL Network and The Independent Film Channel.
“The agency’s work in repositioning the National Geographic Channel proved to be highly successful in not only driving viewers to our unique programming, but in establishing us as a distinct and separate brand,” NGC executive vice president of marketing and new media Steve Schiffman said in a prepared statement.
“We’re eager to see how they can help take us to the next level,” he added.
