NGC Lets Kids Explore

National Geographic Channel is sending 15 kids to the Galapagos Islands.

The network said Thursday that it is teaming up with National Geographic Kids magazine and Pfizer Inc.’s “Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer” on the “Everyday Explorer Challenge,” tied in with NGC’s Everyday Explorer series.

The network said 15 finalists will board a Lindblad Expedition ship, accompanied by a National Geographic explorer and other experts, and head for the Galapagos Islands, a remote chain of islands in the Pacific Ocean and the site of Charles Darwin's research.

“Each month, we dare our readers to explore by opening their eyes to the larger world around them, including animals, kids in other places, science and other insights about the globe,” National Geographic Kids editor in chief Melina Bellows said in a prepared statement. “We now look forward to having them share their discoveries about the everyday things that make their communities unique and wonderful.”
