National Geographic Channel special Unlocking DaVinci's Code: The Full Story was a record-setter for the network.
The special, which debuted Sunday, Dec. 19, from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. (EST/PST), posted a 1.6 Nielsen Media Research household rating and a 1.2 for persons 25-54, boosting NGC into the top 10 cable networks in primetime for the first time ever.
NGC said a total of 1.3 million persons two-plus on average watched Unlocking DaVinci's Code Sunday night, marking the first time the network has broken the 1 million mark. Furthermore, more than 4 million tuned in to part of the special, with more than 2.8 million tuned in for the 9 p.m. broadcast alone, NGC added.
The network will reair Unlocking DaVinci's Code Christmas Day, Saturday, Dec. 25 at 6 p.m. EST/3 p.m. PST.
