NIASHF Salutes Comcast SportsNet Chicago President Corno as 'Sportsman of the Year'

Jim Corno, president of Comcast SportsNet Chicago, will be honored by the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame later this month.
Corno, the dean of RSN executive leaders with more than 25 years in the industry, will receive the 2012 Sportsman of the Year Award on Saturday April 21 at NIASHF annual Awards Gala.

The "Sportsman of the Year Award" recognized a business leader who continually gives back to his community in support of charities and other humanitarian causes. With 28 years of hard work and dedication in the regional sports television business in Chicago, Corno continues to be an industry and civic leader.

Corno will be in good company that night as Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto will also be in attendance to receive the "Athlete of the Year Award." This award is given out annually to a top Italian American who excels on and off the playing field. The 2010 National League most valuable player, Votto is one of baseball's premier sluggers with a league-leading 40 doubles in 2011.
Corno and Votto will be feted at the NIASHF Grand Ballroom, with future Hall of Famer Mike Piazza and Comcast SportsNet anchor Sarah Kustok serving as the co-master of Ceremonies.
