Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products joined forces with MEGA Brands to develop toys based on Nick Jr. brands.
Under the multiyear deal, MEGA retains the right to develop assorted construction toys, including buildable play sets and vehicles, based on Nickelodeon preschool brands Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans and Dora the Explorer.
Products will be available in 2007, first in the United States and Canada, followed in 2008 by additional markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia and Latin America.
Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products manages the third-largest licensing business in the world and represents such properties as SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora. The department handles merchandising for Nick Jr., Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, MTV Networks International and Spike TV.
Nickelodeon reaches 92 million households in the United States.
