Nick’s Dora to Be a Mall Explorer

Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer is heading for shopping malls in 10 cities, the network said Thursday.

The network’s “La Casa de Dora” 10-city mall tour kicks off in Denver Saturday, and the free, interactive exhibit will stop at one mall in each city on weekends through May.

Nick described La Casa de Dora as a 2,000-square-foot, Latin American-inspired exhibit with a terracotta-tiled roof house with several rooms and a courtyard. Each section of the house contains play and problem-solving activities with bilingual elements.

“Preschoolers have embraced Dora's adventurous, helpful spirit and pride in her Latin culture, and we are thrilled to have created a world where they can experience it firsthand,” Nickelodeon Television president Cyma Zarghami said in a prepared statement.

“We designed Dora's casa with full attention to detail,” she added. “Families can spend hours being explorers themselves.”
